CCPA Notice

Last updated: August 5, 2026

This notice is for our California customers adding a bit more detail to our Privacy Policy in line with the CCPA (and its updates under the CPRA).

What Kind of Information Do We Collect?

Over the past year, here's what Almost New has collected from California shoppers:

  • Identifiers — things like your name, email, phone number, address, and IP address. Yes, we collect this.
  • Purchase details — your order history, what you've bought, and how much you've spent. Yes.
  • Browsing activity — how you use our site, pages you visit, where you came from (tracked through Google Analytics). Yes.
  • Rough location — an approximate location based on your IP address. Yes.
  • Payment info — your card details, but these are processed securely through Shopify and never stored on our own systems. Yes.
  • Sensitive personal info — things like a Social Security number, precise location, or biometric data. No, we don't collect this.
  • Protected characteristics — race, religion, health info, sexual orientation. No, not something we collect.

What We Do With It

We use this information to get your orders processed and shipped, help you out through customer support, keep our site running smoothly, catch fraud before it happens, and stay compliant with the law.

Where It Comes From

Most of it comes straight from you — placing an order, setting up an account, or reaching out to us. The rest is picked up automatically as you browse, through Google Analytics and Shopify's built-in tools.

Do We Sell Your Info?

No. We don't sell or share your personal information for money or anything else of value, and we haven't in the past year either.

Who We Share It With

Just a few trusted partners who help run our business day-to-day:

  • Shopify — runs our store and processes orders
  • Google Analytics — helps us understand site traffic
  • Shipping carriers — get your order delivered
  • Payment processors — handle payments securely

They're all contractually required to use your info only for the services they provide us — nothing more.

Your Rights as a California Resident

You're entitled to:

  • Know what we've collected, where it came from, and why
  • Delete the personal info we have on file (with a few legal exceptions)
  • Correct anything inaccurate we might have about you
  • Opt out of sale/sharing — though since we don't do this, there's nothing to opt out of right now. If that ever changes, we'll update this notice.
  • Non-discrimination — using any of these rights won't get you worse service or higher prices from us

How to Make a Request

Reach out anytime:

Just include your name, the email tied to your order, and what you're asking for. We'll need to verify it's really you — usually by confirming an order number or billing detail — before we move forward.

How Long It Takes

We'll respond within 45 days of getting your request. If we need more time, we'll let you know why and how much longer it'll take (up to another 45 days).

Using Someone Else to Make a Request

You're welcome to have someone else submit a request on your behalf, but we may ask them for proof they're authorized, and we might still need to confirm your identity directly.

If This Notice Changes

We'll update this page whenever our practices or the law changes, with a new date at the top so you know it's current.
